DADT Turns 15 in 2008

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the policy and the law that forced the Department of Defense to involuntarily discharge anyone who is openly GLB in the U.S. military while allowing those who can stay in the closet to continue to serve. The idea for the policy, which came to be known as DADT, was rolled out at a press conference on January 29, 1993 and the law that codified the ban on openly GLB servicemembers was signed on November 30, 1993.  Read more at Time.com
